We bring storytelling experiences into schools and communities using theatre, puppetry, music, making and imagination.
They can jump out of suitcases, appear on screens, turn up in school halls and sometimes be created from absolutely nothing.
Stories don't have to stay inside books.

Children might make a character, build a world or create a puppet and then discover the story hiding inside it.
Led by Rachel Beckles, Creative Cupboard sessions use everyday and recycled materials as the starting point for storytelling.
For children who like to make as well as imagine, there's the Creative Cupboard.
Creative Cupboard
Workshops can stand alone or accompany one of our performances, giving children the
opportunity to take an idea from the story and run with it.
That's what makes it fun.
There's no single "right" story.
Our workshops give children space to create characters, imagine worlds, make puppets, perform and build stories together.
What happens if the children become the storytellers?

Sometimes we can bring the story to them.
You don't always have to take children to the theatre to experience a great story.
Others are deliberately small enough to arrive in a suitcase and transform an ordinary school hall or classroom into somewhere completely different.
Some are bigger productions, like Journey.
We create live storytelling experiences that bring together theatre, puppetry, music and audience participation.

Stories for Schools
Our community projects don't always have to be for children.
The audience might change.
The subject might change.
The way we tell the story might change.
But the story will always be at the heart of it.
That could mean capturing memories from older generations, exploring the history of a neighbourhood, creating stories with families or working alongside a charity to give people a creative way to share their experiences.
We want to work with communities to find, create and share those stories.
Some have been told thousands of times.
Some are in danger of being forgotten.
And some haven't been told yet.
Because every community is full of stories.
